Three models denied international beauty pageants

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) denied permission to three models for international beauty contests since they failed to meet certain criteria. Yet one is now in China for the Miss Beauty of the World.
The Performance Art Agency’s Pham Dinh Thang told VNExpress that these models, Kim Dung, Bac Linh and Thanh Truc, were not granted licenses to participate because they have not won any titles in national beauty pageants. Therefore, they don’t meet MoCST’s standards to represent Vietnam in international pageants. Kim Dung’s Bronze Cup at the Vietnam Supermodel 2009 contest allows her to compete in international model competitions, but not beauty pageants.

Model Bac Linh
Previously Bac Linh was invited to the Miss Bikini International 2010 in China from May 14 to June 1 while Kim Dung was invited to the Miss Tourism Intercontinental 2010 in Malaysia from May 6-21. Kim Dung also received a bid to Miss Beauty of the World in China from April 26 through May 11.

Supermodel Kim Dung
Kim Dung responded that she was very sad not to be permitted to attend Miss Tourism Intercontinental. When she received the invitation, she asked PL Modeling Company to obtain a license for her from the Performance Art Agency. She had no idea she would be denied.
PL Modeling Company Director Thanh Long explained that “Ten days ago, I received a dispatch from the Performance Art Agency denying license for Kim Dung and Bac Linh. I then informed them about the decision.”

Model Thanh Truc
Thanh Truc is now in China for the Miss Beauty of the World pageant. Thanh Long confirmed that she is there on her own, without a license nor PL Modeling representation.
The Performance Art Agency’s Pham Dinh Thang added that any person who attends international pageants without a license would be fined.
