Vietnamese swimmer sets two records at SEA championships

Vietnamese female swimmer Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen snatched two golds and also set two new records at the 34th Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships which is being held in the Philippines.


In the first day of competition on June 3, Tuyen broke two Southeast Asian records in the 100m butterfly and 200m mixed events after finishing in 1 min 2 sec 09 and 2 min 21 sec 83 respectively. Besides, she also won another silver in the 100m backstroke event after 1 min 05 sec 94.

At last year’s tournament, Kim Tuyen set a regional record in the 100m butterfly event in 1 min 03 sec 96.

In the first day of competition, Vietnam bagged three golds, two silvers and four bronzes./.
