Friday, June 11, 2010 (GMT+7)

More than 1200 artists participated in a 90-minute performance of a Nguyen-era naval maneuver at Hue Festival 2010 on June 7.

The performance, organized on the banks of Huong River, used all the traditional rituals of the Nguyen navy from 300 years ago. As many as 200 soldiers, 300 karate artists, 380 members of seven martial art clubs and hundreds of amateur artists performed on the riverbank and in boats with music and fireworks.

The centre of this festival was a traditional house, where the Nguyen lord and his mandarins sat to see the navy. Around the house and the river were dozens of big cannons, plus more than 70 traditional boats equipped with cannons were used in the performance.

The performance lured thousands of tourists and residents.
