Italian opera stars to perform in Hanoi

The widely known and appreciated Italian soprano Francesca Patanè and tenor Marco Chingari will give a special concert at the Hanoi Opera House on May 10 at 8pm.
They will perform classical opera pieces like ‘Macbeth,’ by Italian composer G Verdi, ‘Carmen,’ by French composer Georges Bizet. and ‘West Side Story’ by US composer Leonard Bernstein.
Born into a family of distinguished Italian musicians, Patanè had her musical training at the Manhattan School of Music in the US and started her career in 1993 in Torino.
She outstands in the lyrical – dramatic roles in classical operas like ‘Macbeth,’ ‘Salome’ and ‘Tosca.’
Born in Rome, Chingari started his career with Verdi’s “Forza del destino” in Parma, Italy. He specialises in Verdi’s works and belcanto roles and has performed at a number of the major theatres in Italy and abroad.
The Italian Concert is the first of the main events that the Embassy of Italy organises to celebrate 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
