Miss Universe may be held in Vietnam again

In a meeting with Khanh Hoa Vice-Chair Le Xuan Than on June 20, Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart has asked Khanh Hoa to host the 2011 Miss Universe pageant.

Shugart explained the Miss Universe Organisation has selected Nha Trang as the venue for next year’s contest and to celebrate its 60 year anniversary.

MUO organization, representative of Khanh Hoa People Committee and leader of Hoan Cau Company in the meeting for organizing Miss  Universe 2011in Vietnam.

“We are waiting for permission from Khanh Hoa province and the Vietnamese government,” she noted.

Previously, this organization invited two Vietnamese companies – Global Co., Ltd and Universe JS Company, which participated in organizing the Miss Universe 2008 in Nha Trang, to join and they agreed.

Than welcomed the organization’s proposal, saying he believes that Khanh Hoa is capable of hosting the event, as it successfully hosted the Miss Universe in 2008.

He asked that they draw up detailed plans, including funding for the event, to submit to the provincial People’s Committee. Once approved, the plans will be submitted to the Government for consideration.
